And JOURNEY WITH JESUS
You are invited to the 26th annual convention of the Central States Synod Women of the ELCA, July 26-28, 2013 at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
The theme will be “Journey with Jesus” and walking. The plans include a trail walk, “Guys and Dolls” presented at the local outdoor theater, a silent auction of baskets, workshops, and for some after hours fun … a girls night out shopping and spa experience. You might bring a $5 gift that has something to do with walking. We will have a prayer partner exchange and get acquainted mixer with it.
Every year we have at few projects that we present and support at the convention. This year the community project that we have chosen to send a quarter of our offerings to is the “McPherson County Food Bank.” Our pledges from the trail walk, run, roll this year go to “Camp Tomah Shinga.” Our in kind donations will be given to the “Ashby House.”
I would like to remind you that you may order a t-shirt on the pledge sheet and you do not have to participate to order one. The color will be a pinkish/coral color and the logo will be a picture of Jesus walking in the sand.
Each of the forms listed on this site has its own deadline. I would like to draw your attention to the nomination for the triennial delegates. The deadline, with no exception, is April 26th. There are no nominations accepted from the floor. We in Central States are allowed 6 delegates, plus the president of our women’s organization. We have to have one delegate that is a woman of color or primary language other than English and one delegate that is a first time participant. Other delegates need to represent a wide range of ages and locations through out the synod.
