Piano Accompanist — Spring Hill, Kan.
This part-time position serves Hillside Community Lutheran Church (HCLC) in a creative capacity working directly with the Music Leader and reporting to the Pastor. Candidates who play the piano, have vocal singing, and additional instrument abilities are a plus as accompaniment for the purpose of worshipping the Triune God. This position aids in the selection and evaluation of worship liturgy and music for all ages. This Community has high interest in the sounds of acoustic guitar and piano for worship in a blended format with both contemporary Christian songs and traditional hymns. We feature contemporary Christian songs primarily from CCLI, Integrity Music, and Worship Together in a variety of musical styles and instrumentation. Traditional hymns are from the ELW (Evangelical Lutheran Worship book). Computer skills are needed with Internet access since much of the communication and planning is done virtually. St. Thomas/Holy Spirit Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Sunset Hills is seeking a lead guitarist for its contemporary Crossover worship service. This service takes place each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and utilizes a broad selection of contemporary praise and worship music. The Crossover Band warms up each Sunday at approx. 9:30 a.m. and holds rehearsals approx. once-a-month on a week night. We have occasionally led worship away from St. Thomas/Holy Spirit. The ideal candidate will be experienced and versatile on both acoustic and electric guitar, fluent with the contemporary praise and worship repertoire and difference styles of music, and be desirous of active participation not only musically, but as a part of worship leadership with our church family.
