Campus Ministry Team
(Three year terms, renewable once. Committee may have ten members.)In cooperation with churchwide personnel, to develop young adult leaders in the context of college campuses.
Candidacy Committee
(Five year terms with a limit of two terms.)To evaluate potential rostered candidates as mission leaders; to support the growth of candidates in leadership for mission.
Companion Synod Team
(Three year terms. This team may have additional members.)Will provide leadership to support a common sharing of the good news in a relationship with the companion synods; (ELCROS) the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russia and Other States; and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea–Kotte District.
Compensation Guidelines Team
(Three year terms. This team may have additional members.)To function administratively by developing salary guidelines for rostered persons in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Constitution Committee
(Three year terms. This team may have additional members.)To function administratively by reviewing and assisting in the preparation of constitutions and constitutional language in a way that supports the mission of the synod and our congregations.
Consultation Committee
(Six year terms, no re-election. Six members three lay and three clergy.)To function by providing consultation to congregations in resolving internal concerns in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Discipline Committee
(Six year term, no re-election, committee consists of twelve members.)To function administratively regarding discipline concerns in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Endowment Fund Committee
(Three year terms, renewable once. This committee may have five members.)To function administratively by managing the synod’s endowment funds in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Life Long Learning Cabinet
To function administratively by planning and implementing educational and training programs through the three life long learning centers in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Missional Leadership Team
(Three year terms, committee consists of six members.)To function administratively in a way that supports our synod mission goals by assisting in identifying gifted people to stand for election.
Mission Table Team (formerly Outreach Team)
(Three year terms.)To support the call of each congregation in the Central States Synod to be faithful, welcoming, and generous; partner with congregations, area ministries, and the ELCA; and, offer education and resources for evangelical outreach, for the purpose of developing new ministries and renewing every congregation.
Nominating Committee
(Three year terms, committee consists of six members.)To function administratively in a way that supports our synod mission goals by assisting in identifying gifted people to stand for election.
Resolutions Committee
(Three year terms, may serve two consecutive terms. Committee may have eleven members.)To function administratively by assisting the Synod Assembly with its business in a way that supports our synod mission goals.
Synod Assembly Planning Team
(Three year terms. This team may have additional members.)To develop and plan the programs and logistics of all Synod Assemblies. Coordinate its Synod Assembly planning with the Assembly Manager and the Bishop. Review and coordinate the preparation of Pre-Assembly and Assembly materials. Insure that the members of the Synod Assembly are elected in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of this synod. Develop plans, policies and procedures for all Synod Assemblies.
Youth Ministry Team
(Three year terms. This team may have five adult and five youth members.)Through our baptismal identity, the Central States Synod Youth Ministry Team exists to support and empower congregations for healthy youth ministry with opportunities to spread the excitement of the Gospel through meaningful community, service and worship experiences.
