Stories from around the synod HOW COULD WE NOT SAY YES? - Unity Lutheran Church, Bel Nor, MO, Responds to the Needs of Another in the St. Louis Community During a Time of Loss On October 4, 2006, a four-year old girl from Bel-Ridge, died following a tragic explosion at her home on September 14. The girl’s mother and uncle, also in the house at the time of the explosion, were critically injured. Because of limited resources, the family had no way to pay for the funeral and burial of their daughter. An officer of the Bel-Ridge Police contacted Unity, and without delay was told that Unity’s Emergency Fund would meet the expenses of the child’s funeral and burial.
